Abstract
Colocynth (Citrullus colocynthis L.) is a perennial cucurbit grows naturally in the sandy habitat of the arid zones. In India colocynth found abundantly from July to November on sand dunes, sandy undulating plains and interdunal areas in the annual rainfall zones of 150-300 mm. It has good yield potential even under 35-40 mm rainfall and can produce up to 250 quintals of fruits and 10-12 quintals of seed in a hectare (Kumawat et al., 6).
