Abstract

Two methods namely fluorescein- and 32P-labelled probes were tested for detection of Potato Spindle tuber viroid in potato. Out of 94 potato microplants tested, 82 were found positive, while 12 were virus-free. On comparison with NASH, it could be seen that fluorescein-labelled probe was quite cost effective.
